| Felix Pottery and Artisan’s Shoppe has a new home in the yellow farmhouse at 1459 Hwy 395 in Gardnerville.
Lorraine Felix Felix has been teaching ceramics and pottery techniques to adults and children for over fifteen years at The Brewery Art Center in Carson City, the Parks and Recreation department in Gardnerville and now at her new art gallery/studio in Minden. Felix also offers ceramics “parties” in her new location where guests make ceramic birdhouses, boxes, vases, and commemorative handprints. Boy Scouts may also sign up to learn how to create ceramic projects to qualify for their merit badges in pottery through Felix Pottery.
Felix has been creating innovative ceramic vessels and has perfected the technique of using horsehair to enhance the natural beauty of thrown pots and vases. Each one is a unique surprise as the horsehair is applied after the pottery has been superheated in the kiln.
